We are working to attract inward economic investment into Scotland’s towns, cities and communities that will deliver housing, improve public service delivery, economic benefits and contribute to Scotland’s net zero carbon target.
The housing team is responsible for developing initiatives that support the delivery of homes across Scotland with a focus on affordable housing.
Our initiatives have helped contribute towards the Scottish Government’s target of delivering 50,000 affordable homes by 2021 and we are engaged in developing new solutions that can support the delivery of housing up to 2040.
We have a proven track record in the provision of mid-market rent housing through evolving programmes including the National Housing Trust (NHT) and Housing Delivery Partnerships and have also developed an approach to the supply of homes for shared home ownership, ‘Home Ownership Made Easy’.
Our work also assists, at a strategic level, with interventions to unlock strategic housing sites and encourage the emergence of new tenures in Scotland, including our support to the Built to Rent sector.
