New guidance published on shared workspace

What are the key steps to setting up shared workspace? And how do you create a welcoming workplace environment, one which attracts and retains users?

These questions and more have been answered and brought together in a new Guidance document prepared by our Asset Strategy team.

The guidance provides a routemap to help property owners, operators, and users work out what needs to be covered when considering shared workspace.

Modern technology and digital connectivity have enabled a more flexible approach to the spaces we use. There is a desire to work local, in hybrid space between home and main office. And to support the transition to net zero, there is a policy and funding focus on maximising the useful life of existing assets including repurposing and sharing.

These, and other strategic drivers, point to the opportunity for shared workspace across Scotland. Creating and fostering the right sharing culture is critical to offering an excellent customer experience and this guidance informs the decisions required to create the context for a successful shared workspace project.
