Well-designed buildings, built for community use, have the power to transform lives. Through our build programme, new schools and community buildings are doing just that – creating employment, helping the environment, as well as providing people with much-improved places for them to learn, visit or work.
The ways in which pupils learn are ever-changing, so it’s vital the environments where they're taught are examined to find out where improvements can be made.
In 2014, Scottish Government launched its £5m Inspiring Learning Spaces, and we’ve been working with 21 councils on their creative and ambitious projects.
The learning from these projects is being gathered and shared across Scotland and will help form debate and discussion on what the learning space of the future might look like to help shape future investment.
