New tool helps demonstrate the wider impact of town centre living

Our Place, Housing and Economic Investment team has developed a new Impact Appraisal Framework for Town Centre Living, giving practitioners a practical way to demonstrate the wider benefits that housing can bring to people, places and local economies.

Tested in Ayr, Dalkeith and Dumfries, the free-to-use Framework tool can help strengthen the case for investment and support better decision making - looking beyond homes to benefits including wellbeing, social connection, reduced emissions, resilient services and stronger local economies.

The Framework is now publicly available and was developed in partnership with economic and social research consultancy, EKOS.
